Le Douit barn apartments, converted from the farms granite barns are situated in a small lane, a field away from St. Martin's Church in the ancient hamlet of La Bellieuse.

At Le Douit you will be able to relax and unwind in these peaceful surroundings. A short stroll will find you in the parish centre with its food shops, chemist, doctors surgery, garage, clothes shop, post office, cafes, hairdressers, and a good old fashioned bakery. If you do not want to cook, make use of the nearby hotels for excellent bar meals or treat yourself in the evening at one of Guernseys excellent restaurants. St. Peter Port, the main shopping centre, is five minutes by car.

Although the farm itself is no longer a working farm you may find cows and calves in the fields which are used by a local farmer to graze his animals.

The five main south coast beaches and the famous scenic cliff walks are within a one and a half miles radius giving access to over 20 miles of pedestrian paths. At the top of the lane are buses to St. Peter Port.

Quality Assessors Comments

Le Douit Farm Apartments again retain the previously held Four Star (Self-catering) ratings.  Again Sandra Berry and her team are to be praised for the high standards they have set and continue to maintain.

Cleanliness/Housekeeping :

As previously noted housekeeping standards were again found to be very high as has become expected along with high, exacting standards of presentation. Extremely competent housekeeping procedures continue to be in place.

Highlights :

The wonderful, peaceful, rural, hamlet setting, ideal as a base for exploring Guernsey.  Simplistic levels of comfort and the facilities provided.  High standards of underlying cleanliness and housekeeping procedures.  Services of an on-site housekeeper.  Off-road car parking.

Converted from the farm's barns.  Le Douit has 1 and 2 bedroomed accommodation - all have a family bathroom.  Fully equipped kitchens with 4 ring hob, grill & oven, microwave, etc. Click here for full inventory. See below for details of each barn apartment.  An on-site Housekeeper maintains our excellent housekeeping standards so you can be assured of clean, comfortable accommodation.

DISABILITY ACCESS - We have no specific disabled facilities, but we do have properties which are on the ground floor but they are not suitable for anyone confined to a wheelchair due to manoeuvrability within the apartment. The outside yard is gravelled with one or two steps into the apartment.  The bathroom has a bath with shower over - NO SEPARATE WALK IN SHOWER.  We would not advise the use of a wheelchair within the apartment.  Please contact us if you have any questions regarding the suitability of the apartments for your needs.

We strongly advise you to take out insurance - Travel Insurance and Healthcare in the Channel Islands
Healthcare in Guernsey is provided by the Health & Social Services department and is outside of the UK National Health Service.  The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is not valid in the Bailiwick. This means that most visitors from the UK will have to pay a fee for all services.  Anyone travelling to the Islands, which include Guernsey, Jersey,  Alderney, Sark and Herm, will be required to pay for medical treatment should they become ill or injured there after this date. Visitors should therefore take out adequate insurance before they travel and the policy should include cover for emergency medical expenses plus repatriation in order that all treatment costs can be claimed.
